'Hot Seat' was entered for the Zimbabwe Heritage exhibition at the National Gallery of Zimbabwe for the Zimbabwe Heritage in 1989, where it won an Award of Merit. A brave and visionary work, an insightful and arguably prescient commentary on the limits of the judicial sytem in Zimbabwe.
The sculpture was made following the announcement of the appointment of Judge Sandura to the commission established by ZANU (PF) into allegations of corruption involving Willowvale Motors (pvt Ltd) and leading political figures.
