1989 H: 75cm
'Thinking Man' was entered for the Zimbabwe Heritage 1989 exhibition by the artist, together with 'The Refugees', the Award of Distinction winning work in metal sculpture.
This brooding seated figure was placed prominently as the visitor entered the exhibition, a few yards in front of 'The Refugees'. The subject stares firmly into space, clearly absorbed in its' own thoughts, demanding attention and exuding power. The material, manipulated and cut, is placed over an armature to create a tense muscular structure, opening a window into the mind and feelings of the creator.
